Description
The Advanced Oil Tanker Cargo Operations (TASCO) is a 10-day, 60-hour, DGS-approved programme designed for deck and engine officers responsible for cargo operations onboard oil tankers. Conducted in accordance with STCW Regulation V/1-1, the course equips participants with the advanced knowledge and practical competencies required to safely plan, supervise, and manage oil tanker cargo operations.
The programme covers oil tanker construction, cargo properties, MARPOL and ISGOTT regulations, cargo planning, piping systems, pollution prevention, safety management, and emergency response procedures. Through classroom instruction and Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator (LCHS) exercises, participants gain hands-on experience in cargo loading and discharging operations, oil spill response, and advanced firefighting techniques, preparing them to handle complex tanker operations with confidence and in full compliance with international maritime standards.
